Presiding Justice Scudder It is my pleasure, as Presiding Justice of the Appellate Division, Fourth Department, to welcome you to the website maintained by our Court. Here you will find information concerning our Court, including our jurisdiction and procedures, and our Courthouse. We have included information about our auxiliary agencies and our library, which is the only Appellate Division library in the State that is open to the public. You may also access through this website our Court terms and calendars, decisions, and rules of practice. Additionally, in keeping with our continued efforts to make our Court user friendly, we have included a staff directory, forms and practice aids, answers to frequently asked questions, and general information about the appellate process.

Finally, any notice or announcement containing relevant information regarding a Court calendar, decision, and ceremony or other event, as well as weather or other emergency related closings of the Courthouse, will be posted on this website.
