Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act prohibits discrimination by state and local governments on the basis of disability. The New York State court system generally, and the Appellate Division for the Second Judicial Department particularly, are dedicated to ensuring equal access to the court system for all those who wish to use it. In furtherance of this goal, this Court has identified its Associate Deputy Clerk, Melissa Krakowski, to serve as its ADA liaison, to be contacted, in advance if that is possible, when reasonable accommodations on the basis of disability are needed. Such contact may be made by e-mailing Ms. Krakowski at mkrakows@nycourts.gov . If you are not able to utilize e-mail, you may contact Ms. Krakowski by telephone at (718) 722-6324, or in person at the Appellate Division, Second Department courthouse located at 45 Monroe Place, Brooklyn, New York. Directions to the courthouse are available on this site.
