On September 14, 2018, the New York State Bar Association’s Council of Judicial Associations, comprised of present and past officers of judicial associations across the state, met to discuss matters involving the courts, judges and judicial administration. Michael Miller, President of the New York State Bar Association, and Alan M. Klinger, Co-Managing Partner at Strook & Strook and counsel to the council, were guest speakers at the meeting, which focused on the increase in public attacks on the judiciary and the decrease in public awareness of the judiciary’s role in society. The meeting served to open the lines of communication between the judiciary and practitioners about this timely and important issue.
