On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, oral arguments before the Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department, will be heard for the first time by an all Latino Bench in Brooklyn, New York in the Court’s historic Courtroom at 45 Monroe Place.
The Justice Presiding over the Bench on that day will be Presiding Justice Hector D. LaSalle, who joined the Court as an Associate Justice in 2014, and was designated by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo as its Presiding Justice in 2021. Joining Presiding Justice LaSalle will be Justice Betsy Barros, who joined the Court in 2014, and has served as an Associate Justice on the Constitutional Bench since 2022; Justice Helen Voutsinas, who joined the Court in 2022, and Justice Lourdes M. Ventura, who joined the Court earlier this year.
