Presiding Justice Renwick Announces that the Appellate Division,
First Department will hear oral arguments in the Bronx on April 8, 2025

Today, Presiding Justice Dianne T. Renwick announced that the Appellate Division, First Department will hold its April 8, 2025 session at the landmark Bronx County courthouse, located at 851 Grand Concourse. The session will be held in the Ceremonial Courtroom on the 7th floor, commencing at 2:00 pm. The Court’s calendar will consist of appeals from matters originating in the Bronx. Matters originating in the Bronx make up approximately 25 percent of the First Department’s caseload.

The oral arguments in the Bronx will be heard by a five-justice bench which will be comprised of all Bronx-elected Justices.

The arguments will be open to the public and live streamed on the Court’s YouTube channel or via the live webcast link on the Court’s website.
