Emergency Closing
Official notification of court closings can be obtained from:
If the Courts are "closed"
  • the five civil courthouses will notify all attorneys or self-represented litigants by mail of the new court date. Landlord-Tenant matters are usually adjourned one week, other cases are generally given a longer adjourned date.
  • criminal and traffic defendants will be notified by mail of the new court date.
  • defendants who are in the custody of the Sheriff are produced the next regular court day.
  • defendants who are in the custody of any police agency awaiting arraignment are produced the next day that the court is open for arraignment.
  • parking tickets - if you previously indicated a "not guilty" plea on the ticket and were given a date to appear before a judge, you will be notified by mail of the adjourned date.
