Trial Transcripts

How to Obtain a Trial Transcript

Trials in the Court of Claims are digitally recorded. To obtain a transcript, a litigant must first choose a transcription service from the Office of Court Administration list of approved service providers (transcription services). Upon contacting the approved transcription service, the litigant will be asked to provide the following information:

  • Claim Number
  • Name of Claimant
  • Name of Judge
  • Trial Date or Dates

The transcription service will then contact the court at ctcl-transcription@nycourts.gov, obtain the digital recording, transcribe the recording and provide the litigant with the transcript at the agreed upon contractual rate. The court does not charge for providing the discs to the transcription service.
