Public Access Computers and Technology
Computers and Internet Access
Library computers are available for use on a first-come, first-served basis. Each computer is equipped with high-speed internet access and the Microsoft Office and Corel Word Perfect software suites. Printing is currently unavailable. Wi-Fi is available throughout the facility; however, printing from wireless devices is not available at this time. All files saved to the hard drive are deleted on a nightly basis and upon each shutdown of the computer.
Legal Databases
Westlaw, Lexis, and HeinOnline are available for use, free of charge, on all library computers. Each contains a robust package of legal content, including statutes, cases, treatises and historical materials. The library's versions are nearly comprehensive with regard to New York State legal materials and also contain a wealth of content from other U.S. jurisdictions.
Copiers & Scanners
The library has three public photocopy machines which accept coins, bills, or vendacards (print cards). The price per copy is $.25 using cash or $.15 on vendacard. Vendacards may be purchased for $1.00 each at the Circulation Desk.
One document scanner and one microform scanner are available for use, free of charge. Each allow library users to create PDFs which may be saved to a flash drive or sent via (personal) email. Library staff are available to assist users with the scanners. Responsibility for compliance with applicable copyright law lay exclusively with the user; the library assumes no responsibility with regard to copyright.
