Pursuant to the Rules for Attorney Disciplinary Matters (22 NYCRR) Part 1240 ("Atty. Disc. Rules") Committee dispositions are as follows:
An Admonition is a private discipline letter issued at the direction of the Committee or the Court where the respondent has engaged in professional misconduct that does not warrant public discipline by the Court. In addition, at the direction of the Committee, an Admonition may be delivered to a respondent by personal appearance before the Committee or its Chair. (See, Atty. Disc. Rules §1240.2(b) and §1240.7(d)(2)(v)).
A Letter of Advisement is a private letter issued at the direction of the Committee upon a finding that a respondent has engaged in conduct requiring comment that, under the facts of the case, does not warrant the imposition of discipline. (See, Atty. Disc. Rules §1240.2(i) and §1240.7(d)(2)(iv)).
