Opinion 96-71

         This is in response to your inquiry (96-71) in which you raise a series of questions concerning the disposition of surplus campaign funds arising out of your various candidacies for judicial office.

         In your inquiry you state that the question of the disposition of such funds is currently before the State Commission on Judicial Conduct. Under such circumstances, the Committee deems it inappropriate to comment on the matter in question. However, it should be noted that the Committee has previously issued opinions relating to the disposition of surplus campaign funds, e.g., Opinions 92-68; 91-12; 90-6; 88-89, which the Committee regards as dispositive.
