Opinion 95-85

         This is in response to your letter of May 23, 1995 (inquiry 95-85), inquiring as to the appropriateness of your attending “working sessions” of the Village Board which would include the Chief of Police, Village Attorney and town prosecutor, for the purpose of discussing local laws. The Advisory Committee on Judicial Ethics considered this matter at its meeting of June 8, 1995.

         Based on the materials provided by you, such a meeting appears to be heavily slanted toward prosecution of alleged violations of such laws. Under such circumstances, the Committee is of the view that you should not participate.
