Opinion 11-141

Dear:

         This responds to your inquiry (11-141) asking whether it is ethically permissible to be employed by the Town Department of Public Works as a truck driver and laborer while you simultaneously hold the position of Town Justice.

         The Committee does not see such employment as incompatible or in conflict with judicial office. However, you may not preside in any cases involving the Department of Public Works.

         Enclosed, for your convenience, are Opinions 08-56 and 00-62 which address this issue.
