Opinion 10-75
August 17, 2010
Hon.
Dear:
This responds to your inquiry (10-75) asking whether it is ethically permissible for you to be depicted in a family photograph as part of your child’s political campaign literature.
The Committee discerns no difference between posing with one’s spouse, an ethically permissible activity (see Opinion 96-07), and posing with one’s child, as long as you do not wear a judicial robe and there is nothing in the literature which identifies you as a judge. Enclosed, for your convenience, is Opinion 96-07 addressing this issue.
Very truly yours,
George D. Marlow
