Dear Justice:

         This responds to your inquiry (09-205) asking what ethical reporting obligations you may have regarding certain operational charges allocated to the justice court line in the court’s budget which you believe are not proper court expenditures.

         As you do not have the authority to veto any allocations in the budget which you believe are improperly designated as court costs, the Committee recommends that 1) you write to the Village Board raising your specific concerns about these items and 2) bring your concerns to the attention of your administrative judge.
