Dear Judge

         This responds to your inquiry (08-173) in which you ask whether you may serve as a board member for a parochial elementary school. This Committee has concluded, under similar circumstances, that there is no ethical prohibition against serving as a board member of a non-profit, religious school.

         Please refer to Joint Opinion 97-104/105 and Opinion 01-42, enclosed for your convenience, which address this issue.
