Rockefeller Drug Law Reform

Since 2009, Judges can conditionally seal certain drug-related crimes, including felony drug, marijuana, or non-drug crimes committed because of substance abuse. Below is a list of felonies and misdemeanors that you can ask to be sealed:

• PL 140.20 - Burglary in the 3rd degree
• PL 145.05 - Criminal mischief in the 3rd degree
• PL 145.10 - Criminal mischief in the 2nd degree
• PL 155.30 - Grand larceny in the 4th degree
• PL 155.35 - Grand larceny in the 3rd degree,
  but not if the property consists of 1 or more firearms, rifles
  or shotguns
• PL 165.06 - Unauthorized use of a vehicle in the 2nd degree
• PL 165.45 - Criminal possession of stolen property
  in the 4th degree
• PL 165.50 - Criminal possession of stolen property
  in the 3rd degree, but not if the property consists of one or more firearms, rifles or shotguns
• PL 170.10 - Forgery in the 2nd degree
• PL 170.25 - Criminal possession of a forged instrument
  in the 2nd degree
• PL170.60 - Unlawfully using slugs in the 1st degree
• An attempt to commit any of the offenses listed above
• Any class B, C, D or E controlled substance (drug)
  or marijuana felony offense
• Controlled substance (drug) or marijuana misdemeanor offenses

You can ask the court to seal these convictions even if they happened before the law was changed in 2009.
