Black History Month 2024
As in years past, Black History Month events were joyously celebrated in our Judicial Districts statewide in February 2024. Black History is an integral part of our nation’s history that, rather than being limited to a month-long calendar of celebrations and programs, should be recognized and appreciated year-round. We are pleased to present this Black History Month site, where you can learn more about some of the many educational and inspiring Black History Month programs and events held by the Unified Court System this past February, which are sure to resonate deeply throughout the year and into the future.
Among this year’s Black History Month celebrations, the Seventh Judicial District’s Monroe County Hall of Justice in Rochester was home, throughout the month of February, to a Black History Month Portrait Gallery paying tribute to eight heroic figures and changemakers–each leaving an indelible mark on our nation and beyond. We invite you to watch the informative video (see arrow below) highlighting the Seventh Judicial District’s Black History Month Portrait Gallery.
