Penny,
On a personal note, thank you for your understanding and
compassion in this matter. Not many people in this world
have that for people they don't know. You made my life just
alittle less busy and stressed. Please except my deepest
thanks! I truly enjoyed our conversation it was very refreshing
to talk to another woman instead of a 2 year old child.
Again thank you and have a wonderful day.
Thank you,
Melody K.

Mrs.
K.:
Thank you for your patience with leading me through this internship.
I appreciate all the hard work you put into me and I hope I don't fall short of
your expectations in my future career which you have helped prepare me for. You
always explained things so that I understood them. You also didn't try to soften
what you said as if I couldn't handle it. Thank You.
Sincerely,
Belinda

Drug Court Co-ordinator, Bing. City Court
Dear Ms. A.;
I wish to commend the services of our Drug
Court Co-ordinator Kristin M.. As you know, Kristin has been with this
Court from the beginning, taking over the responsibilities you had personally
taken care of for the court. She continues to do an exceptional job and co-ordinate
a superb, committed team in this most difficult task. Her devotion to duty is
second to none and that was clearly evident at this last drug court graduation
ceremony on Nov. 16th, 2004. This was our largest graduation yet and Kristin has
the foresight to plan properly for it. Securing the Supreme Court Room which greatly
enhanced the celebration. She continues to do whatever is necessary to ensure
that this court runs smoothly and is a credit to this community. She carries on
the finest traditions of Binghamton City Court and I hope you will pass along
my compliments to her. All the best, Mary Anne Judge,

Dear Judge L.:
Thank you for allowing my class to visit the Domestic Violence Court. It
was an invaluable experience for my students and certainly enhanced what I can
in the classroom. They are still sharing some of their observations with their
peers. One student came to me the very next day asking how one would contact the
SOS Shelter because he had a friend that needed their services. That prompted
me to realize that many students are unaware about the services that are offered
in this community. This further led us to the First Call For Help internet site
which proved to be useful. I appreciated the time you spent talking to
the class after the proceedings and sending us the decision from the non-jury
trial. It was very satisfying to the students because much of what you cited they
had already discussed and wondered about. I will have a new class in the Spring
and I look forward to another opportunity to bring students for this kind of experience.
Very truly yours, Jacqueline Coordinator of Social Studies

Dear Judge L.,
We of Mrs. T.'s
government class would like to thank you for inviting us to your court and the
time you took out of your day. Our class that attended the court greatly appreciated
the chance to view live cases. We all were to learn about the different types
of court systems and how they're handled. We would all like to thank you again!.

I would like to thank you for your participation in our In-Service Training 2003.
Over an eight week period from January 27 till March 21, you
taught your subject matter every week during your designated time. We realize

was needed to prepare your class material.

Dear Judge P.:
As my time at Levene Gouldin & Thompson comes to an end, I wanted to take
this opportunity to let you know what a wonderful staff you have.
I
began my stint as an estate paralegal in February with very little experience.
As you can imagine, I have needed quite a bit of help and guidance. Marilyn, Anita,
Barbara and Sue have always been very helpful, understanding and a thousand other
words that escape me at this time. Your office, among all others I have dealt
with, are by far the most helpful. They are always courteous and friendly. You
can always be assured of having your questions answered and/or getting a call
back if need be.
We are very lucky to have them, and I wanted you to
know how much they are appreciated, not just by me, but everyone who works with
them. Sincerely yours,
|

Dear Judy: I am writing in my capacity as President
of the Broome County Magistrates' Association to thank you, again, very much for
your very interesting and informative presentation at our recent meeting. I have
been striving to make our members aware of the significant resources that are
available to them in the nature of legal research. Your presentation was extremely
informative particularly in advising the Magistrates of those resources that are
available to them through the Supreme Court Library system as well as other resources
available to them through the New York State Office of Court Administration. Your
willingness to assist individual Judges with their research projects was commented
upon by a number of our members as being most appreciated. I thank you
again for the time and energy expended upon our behalf. Very truly
yours, Broome County Magistrates Association |

Chemung County Family Court 203 William St.
Elmira, NY 14901 Dear Marie: I want to thank you for
your involvement as a member of CDRC 's Chemung County Advisory Council. I also
want to apologize for the length of time since our last contact. During the past
year, there was significant turnover in CDRC 's staff. The remaining staff used
up their time on the most essential tasks. While we have come through this transition
stronger than we were before, one unfortunate result was too much time elapsing
without our being in touch with you. Since the group last met, the agency has
made significant progress in connecting with the Chemung County community. Though
we still have much to do, we no longer think that a separate Advisory Council
is necessary.
I wanted to share several signs of progress toward our
goal of connecting with the Chemung community. One is the fact that this year
the agency's Board of Directors is divided evenly between members from Tompkins
County and members from Chemung and Schuyler Counties. Steve Jacobsen, CDRC 's
Deputy Director since last summer, is an Elmira resident and has been a volunteer
mediator with our Elmira office since 1998. Paula S., who helped us open
our Chemung County office, continues to be a valued staff member and is now supervisor
of our Chemung and Schuyler of'fices. Staff are now a part of several important
networks of service providers. We consider you a friend of the agency
and hope you are willing to be contacted when your particular expertise or connections
may be of value to us. Similarly, if you have ideas or suggestions that may be
helpful to us as we consider how best to meet the needs of Chemung County, please
call me, Steve or Paula. We welcome your input. We look forward to continuing
to build relationships with community members like you who are willing to assist
us. Thank you again for your time and support. Sincerely, Judith

Re: Appeal of SAWAD Corporation ASBCA No. 53073
Dear
Judge O.:
I write to express my appreciation for allowing the Armed
Services Board of Contract Appeals (ASBCA) to use a courtroom in your courthouse.
On 30-31 January, I conducted a hearing concerning the subject case, Your
staff was extremely hospitable and helpful to me, my court reporter, the parties
(a local contractor from Elmira, NY and the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers), and
their witnesses. The ASBCA has worldwide jurisdiction; therefore, we often must
rely onlocal entities for support. On this occasion, the quality of the assistance
we received was well above normal.
Particularly helpful were Michael H.,
Chief Clerk, and his office staff. On 29 January 200 1, Mr. H. greeted me very
graciously, oriented me to your facility, and secured a parking space for
my use, During the hearing, Mr. H. and staff assisted with our few but very
important requests for assistance., We were also very courteously aided by Jeff
T., Court Security Director, and his security force. In short, everyone we
met treated us splendidly.
Please convey my thanks to Messrs. H.
and T. for a job well done, Sincerely, Steven

Judy A. L., District Law Librarian
Binghamton Supreme Court Library Dear
Judy:
I am writing to sing my praises for Terrie S., Tompkins County's
Supreme Court Law Library Clerk. Terrie has been with the courts for many years
so I know you are well aware of what a knowledgeable, dedicated, generous and
all-around wonderful person she is. A true asset to the a Unified Court System.
I would like to let you and others know what a huge help Terrie has been to me
and to the Cortland Supreme Court Library.
During the recent months that
the Law Library Clerk position was vacant here, Terrie, in addition to maintaining
her usual workload, came to Cortland regularly and did an excellent job in keeping
the library functioning and whipping things into order. What an advantage it's
been for me, making the transition into my new position. Terrie continued
to come regularly to train me and I could not have asked for a better person to
do the job. Her knowledge in all aspects of running a law library and her good-humored
and patient approach to imparting some of that knowledge made it an experience
of which I am truly appreciative. I feel very fortunate to have been able to step
into such a well organized work space with such a competent and personable mentor
at my side.
My hearfelt thanks goes out to Terrie for all that she has done
and all that she continues to do. I would like everyone in the Sixth to know what
a gem Terrie S. is, although if you know her, you already know that.
Sincerely, Elizabeth
W. |
