In celebration of Global Diversity Awareness Month, the 13th Judicial District and the Franklin H. Williams Judicial Commission co-sponsored two dynamic events in October 2021 with the Richmond County Bar Association.
The first program, “Diversity, Inclusion & You: Impact on Life, Work, and Profession,” was moderated by Commissioner Nadine C. Johnson, Esq. Greetings and remarks were provided by Michael V. Gervasi, Esq., and Hon. Desmond A. Green. Speakers included Mary Lynn Nicolas-Brewster, Esq., Hon. Alexander Jeong, Abou Sy Diakhate, Irini Bekhit, Esq., S. Maquita Moody, Esq., Jane Stilwell, Barbara Martinez, T. Andrew Brown, Esq., Kenneth Fay, and Hon. Richmond Rodriguez.
The second program featured sessions on “Access to Justice: Cultural Sensitivity”; “Self-Represented Litigants”; “The Youth: Raise the Age”; and “Jury Bias.” Moderated by Commissioner Nadine C. Johnson, Esq., and featuring panelists Biju John Koshy, Esq., Hon. Alison Hamanjian, Hon. Frances Martin, and Hon. Raja Rajeswari.
