In September 2021, the Richard C. Failla LGBTQ Commission, in collaboration with the Franklin H. Williams Judicial Commission, the UCS Office of Diversity & Inclusion, and the NYS Judicial Committee on Women hosted an early screening of the Amazon Original documentary, My Name is Pauli Murray.
Pauli Murray was a pivotal figure in the history of the struggle for gender equality and racial justice. Murray was a trailblazing Black and feminist poet, lawyer, legal scholar, and priest who influenced the likes of Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Thurgood Marshall. Murray is revered to many in the transgender rights movement. The film is available on Amazon Prime Video.
