In September 2021, the Historical Society of the New York Courts partnered with Woodlawn Cemetery & Conservancy to highlight some of New York’s legendary legal figures through a conversation with their modern-day descendants.
These ancestral giants of New York law share a final resting place at Woodlawn Cemetery, but the panel discussion emphasized the outsized influence those attorneys still have on contemporary New York life. Panelists included the Co-Chair of the Franklin H. Williams Judicial Commission, Hon. Troy K. Webber, a judicial descendant of New York City's first African American judge, Hon. James S. Watson.
