On October 14, 2020, the Franklin H. Williams Judicial Commission co-sponsored with the CUNY School of Law Center for Latinx Rights and Equality (CLRE) a free webinar entitled, The Importance of Judicial Diversity and Inclusion in New York Courts. Panelists included: Hon. Erika Edwards, President, Judicial Friends Association; Hon. Sallie Manzanet-Daniels, President, Latino Judges Association; Hon. Lillian Wan, President, Asian American Judges Association; and FHW Commission Co-Chair, Hon. Troy K. Webber. Panelists discussed the Judicial Friends’ recent report, its findings and recommendations, and strategies for improving diversity and inclusion in the courts. The program was moderated by Prof. Natalie Gomez-Velez, Director, CLRE at CUNY Law School, and FHW Commissioner, Hon. Joanne D. Quiñones.
