On Friday, February 28, 2020, courthouse staff and invited guests came to the Monroe County Courthouse in Rochester to celebrate Black History Month. Hon. Craig J. Doran, the Administrative Judge for the Seventh Judicial District, gave the opening remarks. He was later joined by Hon. Lovely Warren, Mayor of Rochester, Jennifer Boutte, Director of Development and Community Engagement for CDS Life Transitions, and Ernest Flagler-Mitchell, Monroe County Legislator.
This year’s theme for Black History month, “African Americans and the Vote,” recognizes the ongoing struggle for voting rights for African Americans throughout American history that continues into the 21st century.
