The Civil Court Judges of Richmond County and the Housing
Court Judge assigned to the borough are proud to welcome you
to our historic courthouse in the West Brighton section of
Staten Island.
The Richmond County Civil Court was created
as part of the New York City Civil Court in
September 1962. A separate citywide Housing
Part was established in October 1973. Our Castleton
Avenue courthouse, was completed in 1927 during
the Governor Alfred E. Smith and Mayor James
J. "Jimmy" Walker administrations.
Today the Richmond County Civil Court serves
our borough of over 450,000 people in our civil,
small claims and housing part.
