Robert D. Mayberger was appointed the Clerk of the Court on November 24, 2010. As Clerk, he oversees the daily operations of the Court and its auxiliary agencies, including the admission of attorneys and attorney discipline. He is responsible for supervising and managing all Court functions including motions, appeals, budget preparation, personnel, finance, security, and all other areas of the Court's administration.
Mr. Mayberger's career with the Court began in 1978. Prior to his appointment as Clerk, he served in various capacities including Law Clerk to Presiding Justice A. Franklin Mahoney, Chief Appellate Court Attorney and, for the past 27 years, as Deputy Clerk.
Mr. Mayberger is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and Albany Law School.
