Chief Michael Senese was sworn in today as the Chief of Court Security for New York City Courts by the Hon. George Grasso, Supervising Judge of Bronx Criminal Court.

In his new capacity, Chief Senese will oversee implementation of security and safety policies and procedures in the trial-level courts in New York City's five boroughs. He is filling a vacancy created by Michael Magliano' s recent promotion to Chief of Public Safety.

Chief Senese has had a long, distinguished court career, starting out as a court officer in 1991 and steadily rising through the ranks. Over the years, he has been involved in every aspect of security and emergency management, overseeing day-to-day security operations, managing gang trials and responding to judicial threats, among other responsibilities. Prior to his promotion, he was the Major in Bronx Criminal Court.
