Receive Text Messages About Court News & Notices


Stay in touch with the New York State Court System. You can sign up to receive timely information about court closings and other alerts, as well as learn about the latest court news and developments. See below to choose the account, or accounts, that are right for you.

To Follow the UCS on Twitter:

  • NYCourtsNotice - Get up-to-the-minute alerts on weather closings and other emergency notifications.
  • NYCourtsNews - Receive news and information on the courts and court system, including new initiatives and court rules.
  • NYCourtsCOA - Keep abreast of Court of Appeals happenings with timely notices on decisions, arguments and other news.

REGISTER Receive text messages via Twitter

It is not necessary to have a Twitter account to get any court alerts, and you can register to receive the alerts right on your smartphone. Here’s how:

On your phone, send a text to address 40404 (enter 40404 where you would normally enter a telephone number) with a message to follow a particular account, such as follow NYCourtsNews or follow NYCourtsCOA. Simply enter the “follow” command where you would normally write your text message. The procedure will be identical for all of the court accounts.

Please Note: The UCS Twitter accounts do not accept messages.

 

OPT-OUT

If you decide to opt out, send a text to address 40404 to the account you want to cancel
(such as off nycourtsnotice).

To stop receiving unwanted Twitter (SPAM) text messages, text Discover Off to address 40404
